It all started when I remembered that all pennies minted before 1983 are copper, as opposed to modern pennies which are mostly zinc. In my mind, I could totally collect as many copper pennies as possible and then I'd have copper to turn into ingots or something. I haven't gotten to that part yet, so for now im just collecting as many as I can. It's very enriching and gives me something to look for in my everyday life.

Another thing is wheat pennies, which are just pennies with a different design on the back. Apparently they were minted to celebrate Abraham Lincoln's 100th birthday, but they kept minting them up until 1958?? So they were around for a while, but I only have like 8 of them total. I don't know the exact number of copper pennies I have, but it's probably around 200 or so.

Ever since these realizations, I get so excited when I find a penny on the ground or if someone gives me their change at work. It just makes my day so much better when i find a copper penny, I dont know why. It's like a surprise visit from a friend, like oh my gosh!! Its you!!! and once I get home, I can experience the joy of adding it to my collection.

I just love the idea that a penny existed for almost 100 years just to end up in my hands, and they'll probably die in my hands too.

My mom had a big vase full of change, and surprisingly she let me sift through it. I sorted out every single penny and then checked the dates one by one. I didn't keep track of any numbers, but there were a Lot of pennies. I'll attach a picture of my desk mid-sorting at the bottom. I found a few wheat pennies too, so that was exciting. Right before I started writing this, my mom actually gave me a SECOND vase of coins to look through, I'm so excited to do that.

Okay, the main reason I needed to write this post was because of my dreams. I can't stop having dreams about pennies lately. Last night had a dream a friend had a bunch of weird coins and pennies. One of them said "Brone Tent" and i was like Hey thats awesome! and I kept trying to convince him to let me have some. The other night i had a dream about "cool pennies" but thats all i wrote so i cant remember anymore. Had a dream at some point that i found a penny from the year 27 and it was just a stone scroll. At some point I had a dream about like, 3D pennies?? Literally no idea anymore. One thing about me is that I always remember a Lot of my dreams, maybe I should add a section for dreams or something.

Anyways I'm completely normal and Pennies have no power over me. AFFIRM
