3D Printing!!!

So yeah, I got a 3D printer for christmas. I already had big ideas brewing for when I would finally get one, so now im diving through my mind vault and pulling them back out again.

Going to include dated sections for each update/new mini-project i make.

Proposed Process for Figures

I'm assuming that, as long as the print turns out as planned, I can sand, prime, and then paint the figures!!! It just sounds like a fun mix of things that i can slowly get better at with time.

Some results

SD card holder

It took 4 prototypes to get it correct...

From left to right:
1st - Just a single slot, It didnt work at all.
2nd - Way too small.
3rd - Still too small...
4th - With a random guess, I got the scale correctly and it works like a charm!!!

my man Jerry

Left: Priming - Right: Painted

The character itself is 4 years old now, but such an iconic guy within the people who know me. The model is almost 4 years old.

What I learned

First of all, I need to remake this Jerry model from scratch. I need to prime the models in a few layers, and in the end I'll most likely go with a glossy clear coat finish. It's kinda like a fake amiibo

The Next Day...

Before I went to bed last night, I started a print of Marcy's character Nectar from her game in development, 'Nectar Game'. When I woke up and inspected the prints, I realized the eyes had come detached somehow. I dont know, some weird quirk with the printing. Anyway, she changed up the model for me so i could print a better one.

I didn't have time to paint it, and I have some new Jerry models in the works as well. Trying out some different poses, and got to learn basic rigging in the process.

I just really like how it looks like he's trapped in vines like in the Omega Flowey fight

The NEXT day...

Spent today printing the new/improved figures. Spraypainted them and I'll try painting them sometime soon.

I used Acrylic to paint the jerry figure, and tried using a clear coat to seal it. I want a really nice outer coating that makes it shiny and smoother... Not sure what direction ill go for that, but anyways Its cool

Oh, i almost forgot Marcy made a new model for me to print, Moldar (which is also from her Nectar Game project), and some things that ive named "My bugs"...

Stay tuned for more of My Bugs!
